What does BARION™ stand for?
Barion is an electronic payment service that allows you to pay conveniently and securely by credit card or with a prepaid balance in online shops, mobile apps or to your friends.
The service provider Barion Payment Zrt is an institution supervised by the Magyar Nemzeti Bank, licence number: H-EN-I-1064/2013.
Pay conveniently by credit card
To pay by credit card, you do not need to register, just enter your credit card number, expiry date and the CVC code on the back, as well as a valid email address.
However, once you register, you will never have to enter your card number at any Barion point of sale again, just your email address and password to pay. This is not only convenient, it also increases your security!
You can use it to pay:
- your Mastercard or Maestro debit card
- your Visa or Electron debit card
- Your Amex credit card
Pay conveniently without a bank card
If you don't have a debit card, you can use your pre-filled Barion balance, which you can top up with a bank transfer or cash deposit, or which your friends and business partners can send you money to. In this case you can pay by entering your email address and password.
Free
There is and can be no surcharge for the customer for payment by credit card. Registration and the Barion mobile app, as well as receiving and sending money, are free and will remain so.
Track your purchases
You can track your purchases with the Barion apps, on the web or on mobile. The free Barion wallet instantly shows you all your purchases, even what you've bought. You can also manage your Barion balance and send or receive money here
Safety first
Barion servers are protected by Comodo 2048-bit TLS encryption. Before making a payment, always check that you are entering your payment card details or password on Barion's secure server.Your browser will turn green if the payment and payment page owner is Barion Payment Inc [EN]:
Barion is PCI DSS certified, as required by the credit card companies, and is therefore entitled to process credit card data. The security of Barion servers is designed in accordance with the requirements of the Hungarian National Bank.
